Issue - What to do now?

Folks,
I applied for expedited passport last week and the person at the post office took the expedited fee plus $28.80 for express mail ($14.40 each way). He included the return express mail with the stamp. The application reached the passport department properly. However starting tomorrow the postal rates have gone up - express mail is now closer to $16 starting tomorrow. I have not received my passport yet. So by the time the State department sends me the passport - the rates would be higher so my express return mail will not have lesser value. What will happen here?
I ofcourse don't mind paying the extra couple of dollars - however I was not aware of this (neither was told by the post office person when I submitted the app). So will the passport not reach me properly? What can I do in this situation?

The post office processed it, I can't imagine them refusing to handle your return mail if they did everthing themselves.

Don't worry, it will show up somehow.
 
I received by passport today and the passport office included the additional $1.85 to make up the difference between the old and new express mail rates, I think they will do that for all the applicants that applied before the new rate tool effect. Hope this helps.
