Hi,

My wife is a citizen and she is currently unemployed. So, I will be sending my tax documents with the I-864. I am on H1B. I went to my employers website and downloaded the W2 forms which indicates the "Federal Income Tax Withheld" and stuff. So, basically each year I get a some of my tax money back from the IRS.

For I-864 form my W2 (filled) would be enough right!

Well enough to proof the home hold income is above the poverty line since my wife is unemployed.

I don't think so. It proves you had income in the prior year, and also that your income has been consistent; but you need to prove current income and, in your case specifically, that it will continue from the same source. This probably requires at minimum your current pay stubs, better yet an employer letter, better yet an employer letter specifically stating the company intends to continue to employ you even after you become a permanent resident (or whatever the specific language in I-864 is that is required of intending immigrant income).

Didn't we already go over this? :p

oh okay!

I got the following:

1) Employer Letter
2) Pay Stub (The most recent)
3) W2 (2006)

thats it!
Thanks for all the help!

Alright looks like you're covered. Sometimes they like to see several pay stubs, specially at the interview you should probably bring at least the most recent 3 months' pay stubs that you have at the time. If I were you I'd send a copy of a couple of pay stubs (not only the most recent) with the application and a copy of your 2007 W-2 as well which I think you have already.

Sure! I will send more Pay Stubs. That is no problem. Yes I got 2007 W2 (just printed out from the employer's website).

Thanks for all the help!
