Is visa appointment transferable?

Hello,

Is a visa appointment transferable? I see so many people requesting for an appointment on this board and was wondering if it was transferable?

My aunt is waiting for her passport. While waiting, I was wondering if I could take an appointment in another's name so as not to delay further with her appointment and then transfer it to her name once she gets her passport.

Get the passport # from the office

If you are in India, you can call the passport office and ask for the passport #. They will give it to you if its available. Then you can get an appt in your aunt's name itself. The passport can be delivered later.

I did that for my sister.
