Is USC's Social security card required?

My husband is the USC, he has passport, naturalization certificate, but he could not find social security card, is that required for filing my green card application? If he is not born in the US, whether the birth certificate is required as well?Thanks a lot!

He should file for a replacement for his lost SS card, but as far as I remember its not needed for filing AOS.

Social Security Card is not required. However, I would suggest your husband get a new card. It's easy, all he has to do is to go to his local Social Security Administration with his U.S Passport and request a new card. Depeding on where you live, you can get the card in your mailbox within 10 days.
