Folks,
I am planning to visit tijuana Mexico on San Diego border. Does
anyone know if US greencard holders need a visa to visit mexico as a tourist. Mexican consulate website are a bit confusing on this matter. Any
recent experiences of GC holders who have been to Tijuana would be
great.

Thanks in advance.
JC.

You also need a machine gun, lots of money to pay off the federales and an ability to drink huge quantities of tequila.

PS Don't give all your money to the federales, you will want to save a little bit to buy some tacky trinkits from the peddlers.

You dont need any Transit Visa. Just carry your Passport and Green Card.

And oh, also 'notxer' 's advice as well :)

I asked the question because if you look at the maxican consulate
websites in US, they are confusing. Sometimes they say that
if you have passport from certain countries (which includes India)
you need to have visa to enter Mexico even if you have a US greencard.
Though some consulate website say its okay to enter on just US greencard.

You will only need a reenter document to the US (Green Card or US Visa) if you stay within 90 miles of the Mexican Border. If you are planning to travel more than 90 miles into Mexico you may need a valid Mexican visa if Mexico requires that from your home country, on this case you should make sure that mexican authorities stamp your passport in your way in and in your way out.
