Is traditional less risky than RIR?

I have been working at my current employer for more than 3 years.

I am applying for GC now. Recently quite a few RIRs were rejected. Is traditional equally risky?

If I apply through my current employer I can use only one year prior experience. Is that less risky for tradtional than for RIR or is it equally risky?

Another question is that my previous company was aquired by the current employer recently. Does it still mean I can not use the experience at my previous company?
