Is TIN required for filing I-140/485

No, ITIN is not needed for 140/485. By the way how were you filing taxes without ITIN? Did you apply 1.5 years ago or recently for it?
I did file my taxes jointly, but with the new changes in IRS from this year, the TIN number will be applied(W-7) along with the taxes. But unfornuately my wife's W7 was sent back saying insufficient information. Which means i need to re-apply for TIN again which is time consuming process.
So should i wait untill all my issuses with W-7 are cleared or else can i go ahead with my 140-485 filling.

Go ahead.
