Hi All,
I am kind of ignorant about the immigration issues. I applied for GC using I-140 under EA on Aug 18th 2003. I filed my application in CSC. I am currently working as a post doc in a university in CA. My university sponsored my H1B visa.
I am working in a Howard Hughes Medical Inst. (HHMI) lab, but as mentioned earlier my H1 is from the Uni. In CA. But now my advisor transferred my H1 to HHMI whose head office is located in MD. My paycheck is issued from MD.
My questions are:
1) Technically who is my employer, Uni. Or HHMI, for the purpose of I-140?
2) Should I transfer my I-140 file to MD’ INS? Or can I transfer?
3) Do you think any other consequences on my I-140 because of this change?
