If you would like to see how lucky you are ,read this .Sorry about my writing , I am not good at . I came in USA with visa A1B1 which was valid for 6 month. In 1992 applied for political asylum. In 1993 I got my first EAD . In 1994 I had first interview, which was denied, the reason, my old country was in peace and good political situation.
In February 1998 I had to face IJ which he theatrically denied my case, I heard I am one of many.
Now I have one of best attorney in NY, he tells me that he can win this case.
All hi does ask for payment.
In 1999 Pres Clinton give amnesty to people like me, but not my attorney nor IJ had not a clue about it, IJ stated that I am here because of Economic situation, even in television you could see what was going on.
My attorney said no word in hearing till IJ yelled at him are you going to start to ask him some questen, My attorneys questen was ,In case if IJ denies your aplicacion would you depart woluntarely ? I was lost what is this wher this came from ??/ I said yes ,without knoing what am I doing.
As son as I start to talk he interrupted me by saying something to my attorney, example how could you come to represent your client, firstable you did not rewrite your client's statement you just copied it, than I was struggling with the wards, IJ jumped and started to yelled at him telling him aren't you going to ask him about the time in .... Shortly IJ asked DA to question me. She asked me how long I am in USA, do I have somebody in my old country, do I have somebody here. That's it.
IJ theatrically interupted me OK OK go ahead and seat there ,I am going to make decision now that's it. everything denied .Before we left DA came to me in front of IJ and told me "you have right to appeal, and don't worry" Days before we got in Immigration court My attorney said to me to post pond it because this IJ is terrible and never let no body have asylum, I though it will be easy it's on television it's all over news it want be problem, well I was so wrong.
I had only 30 days to appeal so I hired the one that's good top $$, so he can appeal. I waited 5 Y's, tragic day 9-11 happen AG Ashcroft give order to cut backlog.
Finally decision came in and was 2 line decision ."Affirm without opinion"
I had to hire new one another top$$. . Motion to reopen was denied after one year , the reason? Not a clue.
Now he is waiting for decision, ore to have conference with federal court.
Since may 1998/never left USA, never had problem with law.
My attorney said it would be easy if they could read, but you could tell they are not reading cases.
Few month I had heart attack which I am good now, my attorney said it want help. No body believes me, how come for 17 years you did not became citizen?
The worst is when some smarty who was born in USA and have no clue about Immigration law, comes and ask me. Why don't you go studie have
test and become US citizen???
When I explain that to become citizen ,(if I get approved this year) it would take me 28Y's, they think something is wrong with me.
I need some hoppe.
