Is this possible Approval without FP

Does this happened to anyone.

A friend of mine got approval letter yesterday through mail. But so far he didn't get his finger printing notice. But his case got approved. We are wondering how this is possible. He his going to get his passport stamped. Will this cause any problem. Nothing was changed in online status notification, still says the same 999 days stuff ........

I think he will be asked to make FP at the local USCIS office when he has his passport stamped. And then he will be all set.

Heard this kind of case once last year but that guy did not follow posts and nobody has idea what happened to his case and if he got his case settled. So please post your friend case.
 
I remember sometime ago (in 2002) , one guy on the forum (MSN forum, i think ) got his online status as Approved when he had not even got FPs.
Later, TCS realised their mistake and his online status got corrected.
This is of course is slightly different from your friend's case, where an approval letter has been rec'd.
With approval letter in hand, I guess he could go for stamping and see what happens.
Maybe he will get FP notice after he gets approved & Passport stamped.

this did really happen to my friend back to 1997, i remembered very clearly he went to ins office (los angeles), fingerprinted, and got stamp and went home. btw, he was niw case.

but it happened far away before 911, right now the country has changed a lot, who knows. back to 1992, one of my most closed friend got green card through h1b visa, totally spent 4 months !!!, four months !!! i just phoned her, she got fingerprinted and stamp at same time.

Good to know some cases were like this before. But my friend's is an EB2 case. Let us wait and see. His stamping date is Jan 20th.
 
My friend go approved last year without FP

My friend got approved last year without FP. His wife did the FP though. He never got the FP at all. He got his passport stamped without any problems. They never fingerprinted him..., not even during stamping.
 
This happenrd to a friend of mine in June 2000. He was in TSC as an EB3. Got approved without any fingerprints for both him and his wife.

It is possible.

Everything is possible in TSC. Over here you can get your approval within 10 days of filling ( if you are lucky ) or you may have to wait for 10 years ( if you are unlucky ). So don't worry be happy. Pray to god........................
 
"My Friend" rumors

Rumor1:

One of my friends got his GC without even applying for 485. Suddenly, he woke up one nice morning to the sound of the koel (cockoo-cockoo-cockoo) and lo and behold, there was this letter of GC approval in his mail from the last evening.

All set. He has been living happily (and confused) thereafter.

My friend got his passport stamped without any questions. But they took his fingerprints. Good news. Guys don't worry that you haven't got FP. This can happen to anyone.

Dont make a joke of it. That's what happened to my friend. He didn't apply for 485. But he woke to the koel's chirp and lo and behold he was approved for greencard by TSC.

others: don't jump after me. mind your own business (or lack of it).
