Is this photo OK? Please help!!!

Is this photo OK? Does the photo show enough of the shoulders?

Also, how does the confirmation number work when you submit for lottery?

I've also noticed that many lottery winners on this site post their case #. What exactly does that give?

Thank you!

The photo seems to be okay -- don't worry too much about the case number -- only if you win. And the confirmation number -- you will use it to check whether you won the lottery or not, so keep it in a safe place.

It does not show anything, it is just the random number that has been assinged to your entry. IT DOES NOT MEAN ANYTHING, BUT IT IS IMPORTANT THAT YOU KEEP IT IN A A SAFE PLACE SINCE YOU WILL USE IT TO CHECK WHETHER YOU WON OR NOT. NOW IS THAT SO DIFFICULT TO UNDERSTAND?

Clue: When the system says that your entry has been received, they will show a confirmation number -- you need to print this page immediately or note down that number since you cannot see this number again.

Are you still confused? Have you already entered or are you waiting to enter?

I already knew everything you mentioned above.

I know the lottery results are in the summer, but when you check the results in the summer, will it only display the winners or will it also display the ones that are rejected or denied as well? For example, if I was denied because my photo wasn't taken correctly, will I know this so I can fix this mistake for next years lottery?

THAT is my question. I know to write down the number and save it for further use.

And yes, I have already entered and while the system says my photo is valid, I wonder if it still okay if my shoulders aren't completely shown.

Ignore the guy above you ...

It"s nowhere written what kind of information is available after July 1. I don't thing that there are information about e.g. a wrong photo, they cannot got into details for every of the nearly 10 Million applicants.

Sorry then, i miss-assumed things. But yes, the system will tell you whether won or not. When you enter your number, the system will tell you either that you won or not.

But there is a confusion here, a entry will not be selected or not selected because of the photo. The system is not that intelligent.

Tazmania : You've been through the process -- just have a look at her photo and tell that it's okay -- then it'll be easier for her.

Mandy, here is the thing. The system will only check wether your photo had the right resolution and if the photo did have the right resolution, the system will accept your photo. And you might win, but then there might be so many things that could be wrong with the photo, like the 50% rule.

Actually I don't think its such a big deal, as long as you don't have a major flaw in the photo. Like blur, or blue background or something like that.
My friend was told that his photo was not perfect but he just submitted a new one at the embassy and still got the green card.
