Is this normal processing time?

I am applying from Seattle, WA.

My PD is 4/27.
Got FP on 6/13.
And no interview letter to date. Has anybody received an interview letter with similar dates? It takes 4 months to process N-400 in Seattle - so I should have interview on 8/27?

I understand that they are waiting for background checks to complete before sending out interview letters. What is the average time for a normal background chcek to clear. It should be less than 2 months?

Please advise.

What is the average time for a normal background chcek to clear

if it is the FBI name check, it will take 1 week to few yrs.

by the way, the "averge of it takes 4 months to process N-400 in Seattle is subject to individual. YMMV dude.
 
Yes. I understand this. It looks like about 18% of applicants with PD of 4/27 have their case still with NSC. So already 80% of the cases are transferred.

I wonder of those 18% - how many will get their case transfrerred within the next 2 months or so and how many will have to wait 2-3 years for namecheck to clear.

Does anybody know?

Interesting. How did you get that percentage?
 
My PD is 4/27/06
FP 5/19/06

I am still waiting for Interview letter. Every time I called 1-800 number, they told me that my DO is still processing Feb, 17's case, which is not true, cause I know many people whose cases are Feb's already got their citizenship.

This is getting frustrating because we just don't know how long will be this name check PENDING?
 
Hi there -

I tried calling the FBI # 202-324-3625 and they no longer check status of a name check. Is there any other way to do this?
