Is this good news?

I have been waiting for my green card now for 6 years. 2 weeks ago I received one of those form letters from Homeland Security asking me to submit 2 photographs for Alien Registration card. I returned them to the officer handling my case the next day. No other documents were requested. Do I assume that I have been approved or is this just another piece of what seems like a never ending process? Is there anyway I can get more information on my case?

Thanks in advance.
Chester.

Who knows, it is anyones guess

The good news is they are working on your case so hopefully will not be too much longer

Medicals only last a year and fingerprints 15 months so they may request you do again if these were done a long time ago

Well there is good news after all. My Green Card arrived today together with the welcome to the USA letter. From what I have read on this forum I am a little confused about the medical. I had mine 5 years ago, so only good for a year is obviously incorrect.
