I applied first time for DV-2018. Fingers crossed.

Not necessarily, it's a Congress approved program and it has to go through Congress again to be scrapped. Too many things going on with this administration now to bring forward a bill to scrap it. Though Congress and House of Representatives have Republican majority it's always a probability. There is already a bill proposing canceling the program.
