I called USCIS on June 21 to change my address on pending I485. Later the message changed to "On June 21, 2005, we responded to your request for more information concerning your case. If you have not received our response within 30 days from this date, please call ..."

I have not received any letter so far. So today I called them again. The lady who answered asked, my country of birth and my I485 Recieved Date. Then she said that the processing dates passed my RD and my application should have been approved. Ya... right... I am from India and EB3 :(

I told her that I am from India and in EB3 category and visas are unavailable. She said that she will request another change of address. At the end she said that she requested a case status enquiry also. When I asked her why she did that even though I did not request it, she says it is way past the processing date and that is the reason she is requesting it. I do not want to argue with her about the visa unavailability .... blah.. blahhh

Is this common that they would request case status enquiry as the processing dates have passed the received date? Has anyone experienced it? Will it be a problem, as it will look like I requested a status enquiry for a retro case?

Please share your thoughts.

Thank you.
