Is this a significant publication?

A international conference paper of mine as later edited by world reputed people and was published in 1996.

Amazon.com shows that its being sold for $139

The publisher tells me that there records shows that there have been 307 copies printed till 1997.

Is this 307 copies in a year is any significant?

I think it is significant publication. It would be further interesting to find out who actually bought them. I mean was this bought buy the Univ. Library or 307 Distinguished Scientists ? How did you get information from publisher that 307 copies were printed ? Were they all sold too ?
