Is this a problem at 485 stage?

A person came to U.S through company A. While he transferred to company B, he got H1 approval with new i-94 number (which is different from the one which received at POE). Normally The Unique number will be maintained. But in this case he got totally new i-94 number.

While he was leaving the country, he gave both i-94 cards at POE. He came back to US and again transferred to Company C and again to company D. Till now there is no problem.

My cquestion is Is there a problem in third stage(485)? Because he got a different i-94 number while transferred to company B.

Please suggest/advice/share your thoughts/experiences.

Thanks.

As far as I know, you enter the latest I-94 number on the I-485 application. Old I-94s are not relavent.

I don't think it will pose any problem for your I-485, because INS has all this record with them as they are the ones who issue I-94s.

Check with an attorney to make sure.

Hope this helps.

Sachdev's comments make sense.. More so, since last few years, if you travel on H1 - u don't get the same I-94 number on I-94 card when u come back to US.. Keeping a constant I-94 number used to be the case long ago but no longer.. Hence, even if you didn't change jobs and traveled, you would have had a new I-94 # which would be used for 485..
