Is this a must apply (I-485) situation for single people who plan to marry outside US

Can spouse (who's on H4) be added to I-485 (In progress) regarless of PD getting current? If no, then isn't that a huge gamble to expect that PD will be current before I-485 approval?

Hello Gurus, The current hot topic among single immigrants is whether to file for I-485 during this time or not?
On one side, people tell that its not a good idea for single people (who plan to marry abroad) to file I-485 now?
On the flip side, Some say how can you think about marriage when such a big oppurtunity is at your door?
Please suggest.

i am in the same boat as yours but i already filed my application. i believe it all depends on your PD, employment category, your current job. In order to get I-485 approval, your PD should be current and by looking to the flows of application i am not sure when the dates will be current again and by that time you can still continue your H-1b extension.

any suggestions are welcome here.
