local transfers are discussed randomly here and there since there are not many trnasfers. My case was trasnferred to Pittsburgh (PD 11/97, EB3,NSC, RD 11/99). What are the details of your case?

Hello.
My Greencard got approved on 2/15/01 in VSC. My wife\'s A file was missing in VSC and they requested it from NSC (Both of our I140 was filed with NSC and I485 was filed with VSC). Today, I checked AVM and it mentions that her I485 application case is transferred to NSC. WHat does that mean? Does it mean she might have to appear in an interview? Any ideas how long it may take?

This is a transfer between INS but it\'s not a local transfer. I am not sure what will happen but my best guess, is that NSC/VSC will mail you a letter on a further direction. From now on, you may have to talk to NSC ins because your wife case is their hand. Unless it is a local transfer, in this case it\'s not, she doesn\'t have to appear for an interview. In worst case, I hope not, they might do a local transfer from NSC. In that case, her case will be transferred to the local ins where you currently resides.
