Is there any way to get financial aid with pending status?

I have about $10,000 grant on hold with my school account, which I cannot claim until I get my green card..
I have employment authorization card and all other documents proving that I applied for I-485 and am in pending status. Is there any way to claim the grant without a greencard?

Even though this post was back in March, I'm sure you found out that you have to be a PERM RESD. for one year before you can be approved for PELL financial aid.
