Is there any relation between 485 LUD change and EAD renewal?

My 485 receipt date is 01/26/04 - EB3 Ind. Did FP in Nov'04 - LUD Updated with in two weeks - FP received/case resumed ..LUD again updated on 12/17/04 without change in message..
A week ago, I had sent EAD/AP renewal forms - on 1/27/04 LUD was again updated - no change in message..
Is there any connection between LUD change and EAD renewal submission?
Or is it some thingelse?
By chance any one experienced such thing?

we had applied for 3rd EAD on 12/29/2004 and approved on 1/25/2005.
LUD changed on 1/26 and 1/27 for I-485 and EAD.

I am planningto Apply for AP on my own rather than asking for a lwyer and paying fees fro him. I live in IOWA and do we nend to send to NSC center or Chicago lock box.

what documents you attached with the application? any thing more than these

1) I -131 Application form
2) 2 Recent Photos
3) Cheque fro $165
4) Reciept notice of I-485
5) Passport
6) I-94 card { last arival into US }
7) Covering letter { if you have can u send }
any thing more? Also I have to Apply for my wife. is it ok if I send two covers in one Fed Ex cover? PLease reply.
