Is there any People who corrected Error!! in their Green Card with INS??

Is there any people who corrected succesfully the Error in the Green Card, wrong name,midle name,date of birth,place of birth,last name etc. by INS in their Green Cards, Please share the exprience here for users of this forum. How long it took?, if they got any problems when traveled? etc.
 
My wife travelled on her GC that has an incorrect birthdate. No problems.

I-90 was filed in December electronically. FP and photo were taken in Januaryat an ASC, after the trip. The officer at the ASC said that it could take up to a year to get a new card.

Did they take the previous card when you filed for your I-90, or could you keep it till you got the new one.

Kid below 10 neet photo and fingerprint too, I know below 14 fingerprint not needed, i mean if we want to make correction for his place of birth on his card?? If we go to Local Ins office, will they keep the incorrect card if we fill I-90?

I e-filed the I-90, not paper filed, so I didn't go to the local office, I went to the ASC. (Application Support Center) Maybe its different when you e-file versus whn you paper file.

I don't have a definite answer for you. If you call the 1-800 number they will tell you that they will take the old card away from you. My lawyer told me that they won't take it. When I went, they didn't take it, so it depends who you ask I suppose.

As with everything that is USCIS, this is not clear either.

What supporting documents did you guys sent for your I-90 application? Due to "Administrative error" in the name on green card, I did e-File I-90 application last week and got the fingerprinting and digital photograph taken at local ASC. They asked me to send the supporting documents to Service center directly, but they were not quite clear about the documents required. I have gone through filing instructions for I-90 but couldn't find anything relevent.

Could you guys let me know what documents do I need to send them? Do I really have to send my incorrect card to them as well?

I will really appreciate your prompt reponse.
