Is there an Admin processing validity period?

Hi everyone, I heard when admin processing is done, they dont repeat it within a year if you apply again for visa. is this correct? in my case, we applied for B1 visa in april and still waiting for AP to be completed. Can we hope once we get the result of our temp. Visa, our immigration visa will be issued fast as they have recently finished AP? Thanks in adavance for sharing your thoughts.
 
I doubt that is true. Each type of visa has different requirements that could need verification. For example the DV requirement about education may need to be checked, but is not a requirement for the B1 visa.
 
Mmm... I agree with britsimon that AP won't be exactly the same (another example pertinent to DV but not visitor visas might be marriage validity for example). However, I could expect that if the AP was largely background checks for security purposes, it would indeed expedite the process for an immigrant visa.

It's a heck of a long time to wait for AP for a visitor visa. Immigrator10, do you already have a DV interview scheduled? What's your case number?

Yes agreed - so not an AP "pass" but possibly a faster AP process - yeah I could see that...
 
Yes indeed it is a long time for a visitor visa which doesnt make sense. I know a couple of other people around me who waited 8 9 months for AP to be completed for visitor visa as well. We applied for B1 before the results of lottery 2014. Our temp. Visa interview was in April. My wife is the dv winner and our case number is AS34xx. Our interview may be in Feb. Or March so I want to see if this is an opportunity to have our other AP done before then, we shouldn't wait long for our immigration visa.
