Hi,
My company is applying for my H1B, and I expect the application will go to Vermont in Feb 1st week. Now my employer tells me that due to business slump they MIGHT have to cut my weekly hours from 40 to 32 hrs per week. My question is - would this put me in danger of losing my H1B status? That is, does H1B REQUIRE that the employee must work for at least 40 hrs per week?
If yes, is there a way for INS to know number of hrs a person is working? Would you advise that I voluntarily inform INS that my work hrs have been cut, if indeed my hrs are cut.
Thanks,
