is there a hope for me to get Pass interview

asking

New Member
hello guys is there a hope for me to pass interview ?
i'm indonesian , i only make $100 - $150 a month , my saving is only $500 ++
i'm high school graduate but got no degree , but i am pretty good with computers though trouble shooting , software , hardware , basic networking . And i read that it requires around $1000 for visa fees , medical exams , etc etc . I can get enough money though for the airfare and stuff from family and friends if the visa came out .

so should i go for it ? thanks please reply

Do you know anyone who's living in the US? They could fill out an affidavit of support. You could also try to get a job offer from a place in the US before the interview.
I hate to say it but if you don't get a job offer (pretty hard to do before you have the visa) nor a sponsor, you will most likely be denied the visa (after you have paid the $1000). Also: I simply don't see how you could move to a US without any savings at all and not knowing anybody where you could stay in the first couple weeks. US is not a cheap country.
My advice: Try to find a sponsor or a job, if you don't succeed with those things, I would save the money and not go to the interview.

How will you live in the U.S with $500? The living cost in the U.S a month is about $1500-$2000.

I can't tell you if you'll pass the interview or not. It is the Consular discretion to give you the visa or not, but what I can tell you based on your income, saving, and education, is that you have a high probability that the Consular will charge you as someone who will become a public charge in the U.S. Thus, resulting in visa denial.

Someone asked a similar question before. Read up on the Indonesian DV thread: http://boards.immigration.com/showthread.php?t=280736

Unless you can find a sponsor from the U.S for the I-134, a job offer from the U.S. or enough money in the bank, I suggest to think about it carefully before going through with the interview. Indonesia is one of the country that the Consular will ask for some kind of financial proof from the interviewer because the Consular knows that the average income in Indonesia is below the U.S poverty level.

If your visa got rejected, you will loose more than $755 dollars + medical exam cost, you'll loose the option to get an non-immigrant visa (like tourist visa, student visa, etc) in the future.

If you feel more comfortable discussing this in Bahasa, I can explain to you more in the DV Indonesia thread. :)

Good Luck! :)
