Well, the first third of October is gone now. Can we check our statuses to see if we got approved yet?

Incidentally, Sept. was the worst month as far as 485 approvals go. Oct is even worse. (So far).

I don't like this.
 
Second part of October will be same. They just want to collect money from renewal EAD and AP.

Says.. that it could take between 11-13 months to get 485 approved ( from ND or RD ..did not specify ).

INS removed the EAD renewal money in 3 days from filing...wish they were as fast with the approvals :)

Effective November 1, 2002 the U.S. Department of State (DOS) is
increasing the nonimmigrant visa fee to $100. This fee is also known as the
machine-readable visa fee or the visa application fee. The current fee
amount is $65.

This fee is being instituted on an emergency basis. The current
financial strain has resulted from the need to quickly implement tighter
security measures while there has been a decrease in visa applications. As
costs have been increasing, the number of visa applications dropped by
20% during FY2002 (October 1, 2001 to September 30, 2002.) The decrease
in revenue from applications has reduced the available funds needed to
fulfill the security requirements, including additional record checks
and more frequent interviews, resulting in a financial emergency.

so May be they have a similar scheme here tooooooo ! never know with INS
 
Are they closed today? Columbus Day Holiday

Scheduled Office Closings:

All INS offices and Application Support Centers will be closed Monday, October 14 for the Federal holiday. Application Support Centers normally open on Saturday may be closed on Saturday, October 12.

CSC is closed today

I tried CSC and I got the line immediately, to my surprise. In a minute, I came to know they are closed because of the Columbus day holiday.... :( :(
 
holiday season looming.....

In one month they will say it is Thanksgiving, and one month later they will christmas. They hardly worked since summer... Pathetic service, worse than any third world govt department.
