Is Security check needed for I-140

Hi All,

Is security check/back ground check/name check (whatever check USCIS says) needed to adjudicate I-140 petition (EB-1/2/3)?

I would appreciate your feed back
 
yes i belive its needed

my case
EB2
filed I-140 on a recipt date of 08-08-06 lud = 08/16/06 no updates so far may be stuck in security check
filed I-485 receipt date oct -18-06 received biometric appointment oct-20-06
i am sure 140 got stucked in security check ]

its seems like your recieved date is same like mine for I140, as per United nation they may get your case stuck in I140 for security checks, i belive that, this is what is happening with me now, otherwise i could have got any answer from them long ago it has been becoming 3 months now since i filed the case. any ways congrats for ur approvals

Then Why is security needed for the second I-140 filed under EB-1EA? Its been more than 4 months since my I-140 filing at NSC.

what i heard is that they go randomly, some times they get you sometimes not. But still i am not sure this is the reason for you to get stuck. Also NSC is known to be one of the worst case processing center thru out US.
