Is same day Oath (and Interview) with Name change (Baltimore DO) possible? Anyone has seen this kind of situation in other DOs also, please share your thoughts!! Need to plan few things depending on the chances.

I live in the Baltimore DO, but I am not sure if the oath ceremory is held in a federal court or not. If it is held in a federal court, then it is possible you can have a same day oath with a name change. There is a guy who had an N400 case in baltimore, his user name escape my memory for now, you can send him PM and can tell you where the oath ceremony is held. Got it... I think CPZinga or something to that effect...Good luck...

I believe if the name change involves changing to your spouses last name ,it does not require to be done on the court and can be done on the same day of interview and oath

Only a judge can legally order a name change, which requires a court. An oath ceremory held in a federal building by USCIS officials without a judge can't legally change a name. Unless there is a new practice out there which is yet to come to my desk on this issue...
