Hello All,

I am a GC holder thru asylum and I am in NYC. I am not sure, but is considered Puerto Rico an international destination and therefore a RTD/NP is required? or it is just considered an internal flight in the US, but where the PR card is strongly recomended to have?

thanks

no, puerto rico is not an international destination!

to travel to puerto rico the only thing that you need is a valid ID

Puerto Rico

Actually random immigration check are run when coming back into the mainland USA. You don't need a passport but make sure you take your GC with you.

they check the planes in puerto rico, here in the states you barely see them around a domestic arrival!

IT IS NOT a must to have a NP/RP/RTD or GC... but at least one of the above will be good.

PR is done in domestic flights... no CBP.... HOWEVER, they are random checks, meaning that an officer will stand in the gate of the plane and just ask to "see" any document that you may have.... very simple and it takes 2 sec...

Enjoy PR!

The same would apply to Guam and Puerto Rico. No need to have a passport or a green card to go to Guam or PR.

hi,

i haven't gotten my GC but i was reading the thread and someone said that it's fine to travel to puerto rico with a valid ID - Driver License.

Can anyoen confirm it? if not, what are the Must docuemts i should take in order to come back to USA like? or i can't go until i get GC.

Thank you

You do not need a GC to go to PR. PR is a US territory and therefore the same immigration laws apply there as they do in the 50 US states.
