Is Police Clearance Cert needed at airport for Advance parole exit from India?

Hi,

I am travelling with my wife with a valid AP and I have never been out of status in US.

The only problem that is eating me out is that "Will officials at Indian International Airport demand any document like Police Clearance Cerificate" (As they know that it is an immigrant kind of exit from India)

I have to make an emergency travel to India and I don't have time for getting a Police Clearance issued from Indian Consulates in US, as they anyway send the docs to India and we all know how much time it can take......

Can anyone please share their Advance parole "exit from India" experiences. I am not worried about the US BCIS officials as I have all the documentation.

Someone please help!!!

Thanks in advance.

Haven't

heard anything like that....
I don't have any personal experience but never heard anybody talk about it

Thanks..but anyone travelled from India..??

Thanks but I am still unsure.

Anyone who travelled from India having Advance Parole would be the best person to answer my anxieties.

I travelled to India twice using advance parole. I never had any problem. I didnt get any police clearance cert. in India. But they will ask for a orginal copy. But have xerox copies of advance parole in hand and give that to them. Just show the orginal to them.

I travelled once using AP

I travelled last year and used AP. No problems as such, but I had the AP issued from local INS office which had a very thin paper. And I think the folks at IGI airport in India weren't sure. So they took more than 15 minutes to determine on the validity of it. They took all my important docs. (passport, driver's license and AP) and disappeared for about 20 minutes but at the end they let me through.

Thanks

Thanks folks for the reply.

Yeah, my AP is also issued from a local INS office and I am sure my departing airport A'bad would never have seen such a doc. That's exactly why I am worried.

Also, I think they have seen people flying out with visas stamped in their passport but never have come across such thing.

Anyway, Thanks for sharing your experiences.

Don't Worry...

I just travelled to India couple of months back and flew back from Madras Airport. I explained him upfront that I am currently under adjucation and showed my original AP document. I kept copies incase they asked one (for themselves), but they didn't.

My wife travelled (alone) back from India last month also using AP, without any problems.

Both of us carried, all originals and copies related to our entire GC process (just incase we had use them), but we never had to.

At the port-of-entry in US, the BCIS official asked the following -

1. Who is employer who sponsored your GC?
2. What is your SSN?
3. Where did you get this AP form (she asked this only to my wife) and she answered from BCIS, VSC.

I hope your trip to India (during this emergency) would prove to be less stressful travelwise.

Any body with Ahmedabad Airport experiences with AP, can add more info.

Stop worrying man.....

AP is got nothing to do with Ahmedabad Airport. AP is required at the US Ariport when you are coming back. The Indian Airport guys could care less. All they need to see your Visa/EAD/or I-485 adjunction notice what ever you have with you....

AP will be required when you are coming back to US and they will stamp it...

You dont need any Police Clearance or any thing like that. Just travel in Peace.
