Is paper based filing require finger printing

i filed paper based EAD (RD 14-NOV-05) and paper based AP (RD 4-JAN-06). I just yesterday received receipt notice for my AP applications which have a note on it that states "USCIS WILL SCHEDULE YOUR BIOMETRICS APPOINTMENT...". So i may have to go for that if i get that call.
The main reason i filed paper based was to avoid going for finger printing.
I have not yet received any receipt for EAD which is worrying me. In case i don't get EAD approval before my current one expires then i am not sure how to get the interim EAD with any receipt notice.

yes, i think paper based EAD does not require FP.
