Is OPT an EAD? Proof?

i guess OPT is like an EAD where one can work for 1 year on OPT and doesn't need an H-1 for that 1 year.

i tried locating proof of this, but couldn't find one on BCIS website.

can anyone guide me to weblink where this is mentioned that OPT is a work authorization document???
