Is Name check done for everyone

I called CSC and found out that my application is pending security clearance by FBI. My RD is June 2004. However my friends with Dec RD have got approved. I dont think FBI check is done for everyone. Only random cases get picked up ..... would u agree ?
also is there a way we can do something abt this other than sending an email to FBI ?

Name check is done for everyone. Most of the time FBI results come back as no hit and then there is no problem. Some times (generally with common names) the FBI returns a positive hit, them it has to be verified manually and this is where things get messy. People have been waiting for years to get past this
