Is my green card approved? (EB3, Chinese, PD 10/05/2001)

I just moved to a new apartment recently. I called the National Customer Service Center at 1-800-375-5283 to change the I-485 address. The representative told me that my case has been approved !!! She gave me a reference number: TnCnnnnnnnnnnCSC (n = digit).

I double checked with her to make sure she didn't make a mistake.

After the phone call, I went to USCIS case online to check the status https://egov.immigration.gov/cris/jsps/index.jsp . The I-485 online status still shows old information with old LUD (12/28/2005):

Current Status:

Your I485 Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status was
received on May 13, 2005.

The representative told me that I should expect the approval notice in 30 days.

My question is there anyone had similiar experience that the I-485 was approved while the online status still not updated?

Thanks!

My detail information:
Sub Labor, Priority Date: 10/05/2001
I-140/I-485 Concurrent Filling Date: 05/10/2005.
I-140 REF: 09/15/2005, I-140 REF Replied: 12/01/2005, I-140 Approved: 05/20/
2006
I-485 FP: 12/10/2005, I-485 LUD: 12/28/2005

I think you have pretty fair chance of getting your case approved. Looks like visa bulleting for July'06 for china says 01OCT01 and there is a good chance of your case being picked up even before July'06 start date.

Congratulations !!!!! in advance and all the very best.

Thx

I really don't think that is possible. They cannot approve the case before you become current. And also the fact that you are not going to be current even in July. Either the customer service rep saw a wrong application is what I can think. Call them again to confirm.

Also if your case is approved before you became current then you can talk to to your lawyer. And the lawyer have to ask USCIS to revert it back else you will have big issues if they find it in a later stage. I remember seeing an article in murthy.com regarding the same where they approved one guys GC before he became current and the lawyers informed the same to USCIS and it was reverted back.

Cheers,
Giri.

PD not current and 485 was approved

Well, someone in my company whose PD was not current (her PD was 2003/ EB3 others), her 485 was approved back in Jan 2006. So I think it's possible that USCIS would make mistake like that.

My PD is only 4 days behind the July Visa Bulletin date 10/01/2001

Sigh007, thank you for the feedback.

The July visa bulletin shows the Chinese EB3 PD is 10/01/2001. My PD (10/05/2001) is only 4 days behind.

I think it is possible that CSC has processed all EB3 cases before 10/01/2001 and started processing cases after 10/01/2001. Remeber, the Chinese EB3 Process Date has moved from 07/01/2001 to 10/01/2001 in just one month.

Anyway, I will update this thread to let you know the status in the next few days.

I-485 Case Status: I am confused by conflicted information from USCIS.

On June 19th, 9:15AM, I called USCIS Customer Service Center 1-800 number to change the address. A representative named Cynxxx answered the phone. After I told her my I-485 WAC number, she told me that my case has been approved and I should expect the mail in the next few weeks. After we completed the change address request, she told me that if I didn't get any mail by July 19, I should call back with a reference number T1C17006xxxxxCSC.

Then I made an InfoPass appointment on June 27th 8:45AM to the San Francisco Immigration Office to confirm the news. Yesterday, I went to the InfoPass appointment. The lady told me that from her computer, she still saw my old address. And she could not see any record showing my I-485 case has been approved.

Then, I came back to the office by 10:00AM yesterday and I called USCIC 1-800 number again. This time, a gentleman answered the phone after 20 minutes waiting. He could not see anywhere that my case has been approved either! He also told me that all they can do is to collect information and submit the request.

Now, I am totally confused. Was Cynxxxx not telling me the correct information or the other two didn't have privilege to access my case status? Is that a internal case status can only be viewed by certain people from USCIS?

I can totally understand your anxiety but I would say that dont read too much into what Cynxxxx says. Unfortunately most of these representatives have no clue as to whats happening....

Until your dates become current there is very little you can do.

Good luck!

She was probably looking at another approved case by typing the wrong case number. That's why your address is still showing old one. She made the address change on that case.

Address updated by USCIS yesterday.

Cala,

Thanks for sharing your thought. But I don't think she made the change on a different approved case because I received 10+ emails from USCIS yesterday, saying that USCIS has updated address in their system. I also got LUD 06/28/2006 yesterday with following status:

#########################################
Application Type: I485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status

Current Status:

On June 28, 2006, we responded to your request for more information concerning your case. If you have not received our response within 30 days from this date, please call customer service at 1-800-375-5283.

You can choose to receive automatic case status updates, which will be sent via email. Please click here to create an account online.
#########################################

This morning, the LUD changed to 06/29/2006 without status change.

Interesting.... You'd better call them again and specifically ask to be transferred to an officer for review. CSR has limited authorities and knowledge. You won't be able to get anything helpful.

Anyway, keep your finger crossed.
