Is my attorney wrong?

My attorney just submitted my and my wife's 485/765 based on approved 140 (EB1-EA). However, from the photocopy I obtained from his office. He left out many documents that, at least I think, should be submitted.

He didn't submit any of the financial documents including Employment Verification Letter, tax returns, paystubs, and bank statements. He explained this as my 140 is EB1-EA, so I don't need those documents. -- This MIGHT make sense but later I found out he even didn't submit my and my wife's I-20 forms and one of my wife's OPT cards. She has two, my attorney didn't submit the short 3-month OPT for her internship. -- I just found out this so I haven't asked him yet, but early on he did tell me that we should only submit the necessary documents and it is NOT good to submit excess papers.

I am so nervous about this now. Could anyone give some thoughts on this? Both my wife and me's immigration histories are pretty standard: F1 --> H1 --> I-140.

BTW, he seems to be a good lawyer since I have filed two H1's, an NIW, and an EB1-EA with him. All were approved promptly without any trouble.

Thanks a lot!!!

FOLLOW-UP: Just called my attorney and asked about the OPT and I-20, I was surprised by his answer. He said the Immigration, at least at VSC, ONLY cares about your H status before Adjustment, they don't need I-20 and OPTs... This opinion is quite different from what I heard before, but the fact is there are quite a few people I know who got their 485 approved from him without those documents...
