Is MS + 1 yr exp. = BS + 6 Yr Exp. ?

My advertisement has been drafted with a minimum requirements of an M.S degree with 1 yr experience. I suggested my attorney office that they also need to add BS+ 6 of progressive experience as well since I know that an M.S = B.S + 5 Yrs of exp, and it is mandatory for them to mention that. But what is the equivalency rule when the minimum requirements in M.S + 1 yr and not just an M.S?

My attorney said its not needed. I am a little doubtful.

Please advice ...

I think the ad should explicitly state that a BS + 5 years is acceptable in place of MS.

BS + 6 will likely cause SVP issues. B+5 is equivalent to M+ X yrs of experience (1 has been used in the past; i am seeing 2-3 these days.) And no, the advertisement does not need to state the alternative requirements.
