Is moving OK? Urgent advise required

For the last 4 years I have worked as an Senior Engineer on a Automation Help desk, during which time I have been approved as a permanent resident - 6/20/05- Employment based application. I have applied for 3 positions with my current employer this year in an attempt to get a promotion. I was successful in being offered a position in the most recent. However HR asked me to take the position at my current grade and salary (lateral), I declined.

I have accepted a position as a help desk supervisor with another employer in a similar automation field.

There seems to be a lot of uncertainty over how long you should remain with your current employer. I am obviously under 6 months.

Am I in danger of loosing my residency status by making this move? How would this happen? I am currently working 2 weeks notice, intending to start with the new employer 11/1/05.

Any advice will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in Advance

I don't see any issue to change your company - assuming you are expecting a natural career growth (senior engineer to supervisor) after working 4 years with same employer in same position. Keep some evidence for future reference - your application for three positions and HR's offer in return (which you declined).
I don't think you will loose your LPR status for this reason.
