Is leave without pay in CP processing acceptable???

Hi ,
Need a help.
If there is a small gap in the job say leave without pay for a month or more will this adversely affect CP interview ..
i mean i am with contarctor and sometimes we have to be on bench without project, that time we have to be on LWP.
SO is CP ok with this type of job Or should I go with I485.
Actually looking at my company conditions these days i have to prethink this kind of circumstance.
When i filed I140 with Cp project conditions were good and there was no chance of getting on LWP.
So should i change to 485 as my I140 is still in process.
Is small gap in 485 acceptable?????

'Small gap' a word you used, would not affect the cp process
adversly. You may attend the cp interview without any problem.

On the other hand if the W-2 for any year shows a large drop
when compared to the other years, it can give raise to questions.
A month or a month and half can be explained with personal
reasons.
