is it worth it to apply for ead?

Hi all,I filed i-485 7/26/07 and received my fp appt for 9/22/07 (but still have not received any rd,nd)...I am out of status but have a TIN, I can not find a job off the books so I was thinking to file for ead...the fee is alot but I am hoping that it will be approved before my interview? I need to make money as I relocated but did not anticipate it being nearly impossible to find work...any ideas?

Can you elaborate more on this quot of yours? If you have filed 485 you can not be "Out Of Status" till 485 denied.

I did not know that just with filing the i-485 I am considered not out of status...I have my fp notice 9/22 yey! Just waiting impatiently!!!
