Well.. Not exactly.. After a congressman's intervention, the CIS is inclined to take an action on the case.. It's much easier for the agency to transfer one's case to a local office and report back to the congressman's office as "having acted on the request." Just like with any bureaucracy, the motivating force isn't spite (or "dislike" as put by the poster) but the desire to do as little work as possible.

If you have a very compelling reason, for example your kid is approaching 21, to contact a Congressman for assistance, then it's perfectly OK to ask CIS to expedite processing of your case.

If the above is not the case, I guess it's safe to assume that CIS will raise this kind of question. "What makes you so important that you have to ask a Congressman? What's the urgency? Everybody is waiting. We are required by the upper management to run various security checks, etc.. etc.."

But on the other hand, I wonder if a congressional enquiry would be made against CIS if more and more people were contacting the right congressmen.

After a long waiting, you still haven't heard anything. What you can do? 1) call 1800 VSC number. It doesn't help. They keeping ask you to call back after 30 days. 2) ask congressional help. You worry about it will peace off the officers.
God----
