I applied for my EAD in December2001 and got in December2001. My RD is August 2001. My company applied for my H-1(even though i said no) and got the h-1 extension. Was it wrong? Is it the reason I got RFE? Company applied for my H-1 extension but not for my wife's h-4 extension. I also did not apply for her H-4 extension because we got her EAD in December with me. Do you see any problem here in this case? If not, then why do we both got an RFE?

There is no correlation between H-1B renewal and RFE. Companies do this routinely. Mine also filed for H-1B renewal in April '02 even though I am RD Aug 15. So far no RFE. RFE is typically for paystubs or medical or if company has changed names. The way things are going, it is a positive sign since most people seem to be getting approvals within a week of responding to RFE.

You need'nt worry. An H1-B extn and RFE (for the I-485) are not related. I got an RFE for my H1-B trnsf. in April '02 and just got my I-485 approval (RD - Aug 23 '01) on Aug 02 '02. RFE's can be issued for a number of reasons - medical, employment confirmation (like employment letter, pay stubs, W-2's ...). Just relax, an RFE is kind of positive - your case is being looked at!!! Respond to the RFE with all the reqd documentation and it will prob. be a week within which you will hear good news. :)
 
I totally agree with others who replied here.

There is NO CORRELATION between H1B/EAD with your RFE. Let us know when your recieve the RFE NOTICE as to what the RFE is for.

Dont worry. Take it easy and get prepared to respond to the query
