Is it possible to send the missing documents (Affidavits, Color Passport etc ...) to INS without RFE during 485

This is a very interesting post. :)
It might even make an officer touch your case. Nothing prevents you from sending these docs., but you might want to chk with your lawyer before doing this.

IT will trigger security check. Don't invite trouble.

Do you remember advice given by postal department some time back????? If you receive parcel from someone with exorbitant postal stamp, don't think that there is something fishy in that parcel??????????

USCIS also might think like that and start some unnecessary process and unnecessary delay.

I believe it's been noted multiple times that the processing center has virtually no way of matching unsolicited documents with the case for which they're supposed to provide evidence (simply because of the sheer number of pending cases).. You might as well dump those documents in the nearest trash bin and save on postage. The end results will be practically identical.

But as he has mentioned these are missing documents. How should one send missing documents to USCIS ???

Do not send additional documents

without an RFE....It is next to impossible for anyone to match the file numbers

Re: Do not send additional documents

The question is:
Do they look at the bar code on the RFE, FP etc. or will they look at the A# number to match the docs.

can we send the docs with a new application

I have applied only EAD that too I am not using it.sticking with the same employer. Can I apply for AP with all the docs my pay stub,Tax returns,W2 etc...

Will it make USCIS to touch my case.

Any thought?...

I don't think it matters

Per my understanding EAD and AP are processed by different departments and does not trigger processing of I485.

I have applied 3 EAD and 3 AP till date.

No FP2, No RFE , No Approval.

They look at the BAR CODE of the RFE, and match incoming mail to the file/case.
There is a slim chance that the documents will connect to the file ONE DAY, may be too late..
There is also the danger to RAISE A FLAG...trigger additional security checks, additional fraud searches and etc...since it is has been known for ages...Sending TOO MANY DOCUMENTS or sending them this way..SOMETHING MAY NOT BE RIGHT.

As friends noted here, you don't need to send the documents voluntarily. Since these are the missing documents, you may want to wait until BCIS issues the RFE. I know it is a painful and delaying your case, that is the best approach. Even for the air tight cases, these BCIS folks makes funny mistakes, you don't want to invite unnecessary trouble.

Best of luck.

I would say don't do that. Each RFE is tracked with barcode, with out that they can't locate your file.

If you send un wanted document, will create more work and frustration for BCIS. This will slow down the process further.

I think it is not going you help any way.

Missing an important point!!!

All the gurus are missing one important point here!
Read this and let me know your thoughts,
When we use AC21, some Attorneys prefer in notifying INS upfront. I believe the documents that we send when we inform about AC21, will go into our file. In this case, without an RFE or anything we are trying to communicate with INS and it is working fine.
How come they can match when it is AC21???
