Is it possible to revalidate H1B Visa on H1B receipt notice alone?

Hello Gurus,

Here is my case :

My H1B visa with my current employer (company A) is valid until Oct 2005.

My H1 Visa Stamp on my passport expired on Oct 2003.

I had been planning to do my H1 visa revalidation at DOS (St. Louis), but kept on postponing it because of anticipated change of address and change of employer.

Finally, I will be joining the new employer (company B) after I receive the H1B visa receipt notice.

But my new employer (company B) has filed my H1 visa transfer in regular processing stream at Texas Service Center.

Since it takes almost 5-6 months to get the H1 approval, I was wondering if the H1 Visa revalidation can be done using the H1 receipt alone before October 2004.

Please advise.

(Any other comments/suggestions would be helpful.)

Regards,

You need the original or a photocopy of your current, valid Form I-797, Notice of Action.
This is the approval notice. In your case you might need to use premium processing so that you may file before Oct. 04
