Is it possible to postpone naturalization Interview?

Planning to visit India in December. I got naturalization interview letter for 11/12/2009 in Fairfax, VA. Heard that in Fairfax same day oath is being undertaken on some days. But no gurantee. Under the circumstances, Wondering if there is way to postpone the interview in order to not to face a situation where in my Oath is scheduled during my visit to India. I know many fellow members will ask this question"citizenship or visiting India is important?". But just want to explore the possiblities and suggestions.

Thanks.

You can postpone it to the later day, but you need to verify it at the USCIS (Infopass appointment) before you go to India. Otherwise, you will miss it.

My suggestion: much better to postpone the oath instead of the interview.
Especially if you are in the country on Nov 12, just go to your interview and take a chance for same-day oath.
If same-day oath doesn't happen, you can ask the IO to schedule your oath when you're back.

It is better to go ahead with interview but reschedule oath

Thanks a lot to your suggestions. As suggested, let me attend the interview as scheduled and see if oath is happening same day. Else postpone the oath to a later date if it falls on during my visit. Thanks again.
