Is it possible to change SanJose Office to SF

I noticed that finger printing and overall processing in San Francisco Office is way much faster than in San Jose. For example, end-of-December applicants already did finger printing!
So, is it possible to move under SFO somehow in order to avoid months of FP and 485 approval waiting.
Can I just relocate closer to SF in order to change the INS office?
(I live in Silicon Valley now)

Also, I am not sure at which point an application may get transfered to local INS? After FP, before FP?

Waiting for EAD and FP.

How can I know if my case goes to Local office

From what I heared if your I-485 is transferred to local office it stucks there forever.
Does anybody know what are the signs that the case is going to be processed in the Local Office?

My info:
RD 09/12/01
ND 09/19/01
AD 10/21/01
ED 12/03/01
FP waiting

local INS :-(

I heard that sometimes they transfer without any reason just to make a process "load-balancing". Let\'s hope it won\'t happen in our case.

However, no matter whether a case is transfered or not, we still have to deal with a local office anyway regarding the finger-printing.
And San Jose clearly sucks at this point...
I wish I have moved closer to SF before I file 485 if I new that the difference is so huge! And I wonder if I can still move now, but looks like it\'s too late.

For those of you who is going to file I-485, I would recommend to consider relocation to SF, if you live under SJ office jurisdiction and want to save 3 to 4 months of FP waiting.

No, they will turn you away

This is what they did to one of my friends who live in San Jose and went to SFO for stamping.
It should not hurt giving it a try.
Please share with the board any of your experiences.
