is it ok to work direct contract using EAD ?

Hi gurus,

Is there any problem to work as direct contractor with company using EAD while GC is still pending ? I am still working with co who filed my GC and keep continue while working with new co on contract. So i get w-2 from co who filed my GC and 1099 from co with which i want to work as contractor...does this cause any issue ?

Just a reminder. If you are still working on H-1B for the sponsoring company, you will have to switch to EAD as well.
 
I guess thats the very purpose of EAD. You should be fine. I'm sure many are in the same boat.

I am still on H1 with same co who files my GC..

Does it require to inform INS that i am working on EAD as well parallel to my full time job, currently or at the time of interview ?
 
No need to inform . As long as the current ie GC filing employer is giving you a paycheck dont bother.Worry about the interview only if there is one
 
One minor point, just make sure your w2 states an annual salary > 52K (minimum stipulated for a valid h1) or your h1 will end up in a mess.
