Is it ok to travel outside the US while on an H1B visa?

Absolutely !!!

You can travel anywhere in the world as long as you have a Visa for that country (or if you a citizen of that country, or if that country doesn\'t require a Visa for the country that you a citizen of).

An H-1B Visa can not restrict you from travelling out to any other country - it can only restrict your entry back into the US. As for Canada, it shouldn\'t be a problem at all - even people who go to Canada to get their US Visas stamped are allowed to come back within 30 days when their Visas get rejected.

Thanks - Prashant.

How long can I visit outside of the US while on H1b?

I also am applying for Labor Certification and eventually want to get Adjustment of Status. Will my travels outside the US affect this? Also, how long is too long to be outside the US.
Thank you ever so much for a response.

Not so sure about re-entry into the US if visa is rejected

I had emailed INS a few days back, asking them if I could re-enter the country within 30 days even if my H-1 visa in Canada was rejected.
Here\'s what their answer was:
"If you are refused, it means you have some immigration ineligibility which will not allow you to enter."
