Hi,

The questions is as the title.

I remember somebody mentioned that when senators/congressman make inquiry with FBI, some record is kept at FBI and it is generally not good to engage all of them at the same time. Is that true? Also, what could they do to inquire with FBI, file a FOIPA request? Please share if you have the experience and thanks a lot.

I guess we're almost on the same boat. Couple months ago I contacted congressman1 (at my work district) and his office told me that he would get back to me next week. As, I have didn't hear from his office for couple weeks, I contacted congressman2 (at my home district2). Got a reply back from Congressman2 that my file is with FBI for name check.
After few weeks, I called Congressman1's office and his office put me on hold to check my case with FBI. I did not mention about going to to Congressman2's office. But, I guess he was informed by FBI liason group that I had contacted Congressman2 for the same reason and the status is unchanged. He also told me that he is not going to double work for me in the future.
Am I screwed?

Hi mb1,

Thanks for sharing. Just curious, how could they check your info with FBI over the phone? The lady in my congressman's office said she need to file an inquiry with NNCP program, and probably it will take 6 weeks to get a response.

He didn't call FBI infront of me, but he called the USCIS infront of me. I think they have a middleman.
