Is it NCSC or CIS?

I hear both terminology and some may use it interchangeably. Is it,

NCSC- National Customer Service Center or
CIS - Customer xxxxx Service or Citizenship and Immigration Service ( I guess)


In the recent letter that I received from USCIS on status inquiry I had both the abbreviations mentioned. The letter referred CIS Account Number which was nothing but my A#.

By the way, until now whenever I used to call NCSC, the message was, "Your wait time is 5 minutes or longer" and I would get someone online within 30 to 45 minutes.

Today, I heard, "Your wait time is between 15 to 20 minutes" and indeed the call was answered in 16 minutes.
 
CIS is short for USCIS, since they used to be called BCIS for a brief time, after the INS was dissolved.

USCIS = United States Citizenship and Immigration Service

NCSC, is the department of people who answer the phones for USCIS.

So..

NCSC is a part of USCIS.
