Hi gurus

Is it mandatory to Renew AP - to keep I-485 valid. I have not applied for renewal of AP's for my family due to some financial problems. Does this effect the status of I-485 Process.

AP is just for ur travel. So it wont affect the 485 process.

My family's APs are expired.
I recently applied for a fresh one for myself... not everyone; same reason as yours: conserve finances!

As long as you don't plan to travel in the near future, you don't need to get an AP. The AP per se, has nothing to do with your AOS.

Though a word of caution, find out all the details required to apply for emergency AP. It never hurts to be prepared, and it will save you time and effort latter on in case you decide to travel in an emergency.
